On this episode I head ashore to the small island of Kelayang to explore its towering rocks and caves. It was like stepping into the movie Plant of the Apes! The jungle, moss, ferns and rocks meeting the sea and coral rubble!!!! Remarkably beautiful!

The next morning I awoke to my last remaining battery glitching out, likely its BMS also damaged by the near lightning strike. Episode 433 : Hello Friends, On this episode I attempt to extend my visa and find that once again the Indonesian government has changed the rules and the immigration office refuses to extend my visa forcing me to have to clear out of the country early. Indonesia is known as the absolute worst country to deal with when it comes to paperwork for sailing through their country (as far as countries where people regularly cruise by sailboat). They constantly change the rules over night and make things even more complicated than they need to be. Many yachts clear out before the border because the harbor master at the final clear out office is known to be corrupt and rips off anyone who clears out there. On this episode we depart Lombok for what I planned on being a 100NM overnight passage to the next anchorage. The sailing was simply too good so I skipped the anchorage and sailed on and soon decided I would sail the entire 400+ NM passage direct from Lombok to Borneo. We enjoyed fantastic sailing conditions, no squalls and only had ship and fishing boat traffic to contend with. The sleep schedule solo in this busy waters was challenging, sleeping in 30 minute stretches for 3.5 days starts to wear you down, but the sailing was absolutely fantastic. With this film I tried to combine many of the things I am always asked for in past films. Lots of quiet sailing shots, night time footage, talking through the processes and showing real life at sea.
