Wind Therapy is docked in St. Petersburg for a little while so we can take care of some family business like babysitting, working at the family's antique car museum, and hitting the road with our son's band. Nevertel is performing in the Afterglow tour with Sleep Theory, Oxymorrons, and Stray View in a 30-city tour across the country. Jeff and I are traveling with them for five weeks of the tour to be roadies, and I'm handling catering for the band and crew. This is a new experience for us, moving from boat life to land rv life. I can't wait. In this episode, we're at the Daytona International Speedway where they perform at the Welcome to Rockville festival. And there's a big surprise coming. Watch til the end to see it! And we've started a new YouTube channel for the tour. Check it out and thanks for watching. https://www.youtube.com/@Chaperoadies Also on Instagram and Facebook: Chaperoadies

I know, it's been almost six months since we uploaded a video. Life outside of sailing has taken our focus. Family comes first. I'm sure you all understand. But here we are, aboard the Leopard 45 sailing catamaran, Remedy, to cross the Panama Canal. It's been a bucket list item for us. We originally hoped to do it aboard Wind Therapy, and perhaps we will someday. It's true that someday is not a day of the week, but we have other priorities at the moment. Which makes us so lucky to be given the opportunity to transit the Canal on our friends, Karl and Natalie's boat. Thank you guys for trusting us as crew. Thank you for watching, and please stay till the end to see the monkeys.

In this episode we had lots of adventures. We spent a day on a lobster boat in Stockton Harbor, celebrated 4th of July in Bar Harbor, hiked all over Acadia National Park, and had an awesome whale encounter in Portsmouth, NH. Actually, it was more dangerous than we knew. The next day, a whale (maybe the same one) breeched and landed on a small fishing boat, capsizing it and tossing all aboard. Luckily, no one was injured and the boat was saved. But it was an epic way to end our trip up north.

This video is for our grandson, Greyson. He spent part of the summer with us, and it was some of the best time of our lives. We picked him up and flew him to Port Jefferson where he learned to drive the dinghy. Then we spent a few days at the Mystic Seaport Museum and Aquarium. It was there that Greyson changed his career plans from bee keeper to seal trainer. We stopped at Cuttyhunk to prepare for our trip to Maine. And Greyson tried oysters for the first time. The look on his face was priceless! Thanks for watching our video featuring our grandson. Happy sailing!

I love sailing into New York City!!! What made the trip even better was that we had great crew and great weather, for most of it anyway. We left Spanish Wells, northern Eleuthera, with our friends, Dax and Jody. You might remember them from our Bahamas videos two years ago. We buddy sailed with them for six months there. I never thought I would have flown our Parasailor over night. But the weather was perfect, and it wasn't just the two of us on board. What a great adventure! The Gulf Stream was definitely our friend on this passage as it pushed us along as fast as 15.3 knots!!! For the most part, it gave us an extra 3-5 knots. Gotta love that. But we definitely didn't love the dense fog that plagued us coming into Norfolk, VA. It was the most stressful two hours we've ever experienced on our boat. Thanks for watching!

In this episode of Sailing Wind Therapy, Nick Johnson from Sailing Satori joins us on our passage as we sail our Leopard 45 catamaran from Puerto Rico to the Bahamas. We had a lovely passage that included catching a skip jack tuna, small yes, but big enough to eat. We spent some time in Turks and Caicos before saying farewell to Nick and moving on to the Bahamas. And what a treat to have a dolphin escort in the Exumas! Thanks for watching! #sailingwindtherapy #sailinglife #leopard45 #leopardcatamarans #bahamaslife #caribbeanlife #sailingsatori

In this episode of Sailing Wind Therapy, we sent our Victron Quatro Inverter out for repairs, dined at a floating restaurant in Grand Case, had a blast attempting drunk yoga on the schooner, Spirit of St. Martin, and we bid farewell to the Caribbean as we sailed our Leopard 45 catamaran out of the Simpson Bay Lagoon for the last time. It was a sad day, but we needed to begin our trek north for the summer. Maine lobsters were calling! @SailingSatori @SailingSVHappyTogether @SailingWindTherapy

In this episode, we left Dominica to sailing our Leopard 45 north. Our first stop was Guadeloupe where we were meeting friends. We've had some problems with our Victron Quatro Inverter on and off for the past few months, and it finally died. That means that we cannot use anything electrical that plugs into the wall outlets, among other things, like our water maker. And since we only had about 40 gallons of water in our tanks, we stocked up on large water bottles for drinking and brushing teeth. I hate using plastic water bottles, but we had no choice. There were no marinas where we were in Guadeloupe to fill our tanks, and filling them with 2-liter bottles would take forever. So, we told our friends they couldn't shower every day, they had to use salt water only to flush the toilets, and we ate out as much as possible to avoid having to wash dishes. With about 30 gallons left in the tanks, we left Guadeloupe and headed to Antigua. We love English Harbor. It's like living in a 1770's naval village. We were able to get water there, but we had to go to St. Martin to get the inverter fixed. So, off we went. Thanks for watching.

We absolutely LOVED Dominica, and this is our last video of our time here as we sail our Leopard 45 catamaran thru the Caribbean. In this episode, we explore the hot sulfur springs at SCREWS, spend a few days at the Banana Llama Echo Lodge, visit the most beautiful beach on Dominica, and yes, we get naked at the Bwa Nef Waterfall. But first, we spend a few minutes exploring the cold gas escaping the depths of the earth at Cold Suffrair. It smelled terrible, but was super cool to see and hear. Then we soaked in the hot pools, slathered on the mud, and rinsed off in the cold waterfall at SCREWS. Screw is an unusual character who I thought best not to video. But don't let that keep you from making the trek to his pools. He's built this place with his bare hands and with the help of some of his friends. Definitely put it on your list. Then we zip lined in to the Banana Llama Echo Lodge, an off-the-grid cottage owned and operated by Andy and Melissa from South Africa. There isn't much to do there except take in the serenity that is the jungle, hike the river to the waterfall, and eat Melissa's amazing cooking. She is a chef, after all. Banana Llama! Go there!!! Batibou Beach is considered the most beautiful beach on Dominica. We had to see for ourselves, and it did not disappoint. We didn't film most of our time there because we just wanted to take in its beauty. And it started getting cloudy, so the video wouldn't have come out great anyway. Lastly, we got naked at the Bwa Nef Waterfall. Yes, totally naked! People ask us, "which island in the Caribbean is your favorite?" We used to have a favorite island for hiking, a favorite island for dining out, a favorite for snorkeling, etc. But we don't say that anymore. Dominica is by far our favorite island for everything (except the dining out part.) But that is insignificant to the splendor that oozes from every volcano and river on the island. Visit before it gets too crowded. And if you need any advice on what to do our where to go, feel free to reach out to us. Happy Sailing!!! #leopard45 #leopardcatamarans #sailingwindtherapy #sailing #sailinglife #sailingthecaribbean #dominica #caribbeanlife

Dominica is, well, breathtakingly beautiful. And right now, it's not spoiled, overridden with tourists, or too commercial. But that won't last. As word gets out about the insane landscape and the opportunity for adventure, it won't be long before you'll have to wait in line to swim up Titou Gorge, hike to Boiling Lake, or jump into one of the 365 rivers. We've been in Dominica on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran for just about a week. And in this episode, we floated up the Indian River and saw the house where Captain Jack Sparrow met the VooDoo lady, Calypso in Pirates of the Caribbean Part 2. We learned all about the Caribe Indians and why they settled on that river, and about the native plants and their medicinal properties. Faustin is a fabulous tour guide, very proud of his island and his heritage. If you're looking for a tour on Dominica or for someone to look after you and your boat in Portsmouth, you can reach him via WhatsApp at 767-277-0013. Then Omar took us to Paradise Farms, an exquisite botanical garden, privately owned, that is available for weddings and other parties. They are building cabins and a restaurant, so it will be a retreat. We were lucky enough to travel over the river and through the woods to granny's farm. Granny is a full-on Kalinago Indian, whose ancestors are indigenous people to Dominica. Her farm is lovely and filled with dwarf "jelly" trees. The jellys are actually a type of coconut that produces lots of water and jelly-type fruit. Hence the name. Granny's husband planted only dwarf trees so that Granny would be able to harvest the fruit even after he was gone. Our final stop of the day was Omar's favorite swimming hole. A beautiful spot in one of the 365 rivers on Dominica with rocks big enough to climb and jump into the crystal clear water flowing beneath you. Omar is a fantastic island tour guide. If you're looking for fun and adventure on the island, give him a call on WhatsApp at 767-277-1316. Thanks for watching. #caribbeanlife #sailing #sailingwindtherapy #sailboat #dominica #piratesofthecaribbean #leopard45 #leopardcatamarans

Dominica is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. We are so happy we sailed our Leopard 45 catamaran there! It's unspoiled, for now. So visit while you can. In this episode, we continue our exploration of this amazing island. We meet up with Omar, our tour guide turned dear friend. He took us to Syndicate Falls, another win for Jeff. We loved visiting his friends' farm, where these two men, one 84 and the other 92 years old, climbed jelly coconut trees to give us a taste of their favorite food, and showed us around their pineapple plantation. On our way to the black sand beach, we picked up Frederick, whose "right name is Peter", but some people call him Frederick. He told us his last name three time, but I couldn't understand it. He was just the sweetest man. Lastly, we visited the black sand beach, where the sand is ... well, black. It's also magnetic so it shines silver. Just beautiful! Contact us for Omar and Alexsis's contact info. They're the BEST! Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe

In this episode, we have a salty sail from Martinique to Dominica on board our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. The lack of development on the island has kept it pristine, rugged, and beautiful. We had an amazing day filled with adventure. From hiking the stairway to heaven around Freshwater Lake, swimming to the bottom of a waterfall in Titou Gorge, (they filmed a scene from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies there), to scrambling over boulders and through the river to the highest pool at Trafalgar Falls, it was an epic day of beauty and adventure. We want to thank Desmond from Sea Cat Adventures for picking us up, and Jones who was our tour guide for the day. He did an awesome job and gave us the adventure of a lifetime. But things are changing for Dominica. The Chinese government is building a new international airport on the island and the cruise ship port is going to expand. Once those projects are complete, tourists will come in droves. The charm and raw nature will begin to fade as it becomes more commercial. So, don't wait! Visit now!!! If you have questions or want advice, leave us a comment. #sailingwindtherapy #caribbean #sailinglife #sailing #caribbeanlife #cruisinglife #dominica #leopard45 #leopardcatamarans

In this episode, as we sail our Leopard 45 catamaran around the Windward Islands of the Caribbean, we explore Saint Lucia. We take a gondola through the rain forrest with Treetop Adventures, Jeff visits a local doctor (WOW) to take care of an infection in his elbow, and we get down and dirty in the mud baths with Jeff's best college buddy, Larry, and his girlfriend. We got quite an education during our rainforest tour. Our gondola glided us through the rainforest to the top, and we descended above the rainforest for an incredible view. Then we visited the mud baths. First, we soaked in the warm water from the volcano. Don't worry, it was mixed with cold river water, so it wasn't too hot. Then we rubbed grey mud all over our bodies and accented with thicker black mud. Letting it dry was tough because the breeze was chilly. But after a while, we rinsed off in the warm bath, leaving all the mud on our faces. Our guide, Taurius drove us to a cold waterfall to wash off the rest. But it was TOO COLD! We did the best we could, and spent the rest of the day a little crusty. But one of the highlights was visiting Dr. Alexis, a local doctor in Soufriere. Jeff got a small knick on his elbow which had clearly become infected. Jeff, being the man that he is, ignored it and hoped it would go away. Which it didn't. We made our way into the local pharmacy and were escorted out the back door and through the alley to see the doctor. He was a very nice man who prescribed a round of antibiotics. Luckily, they worked, and all is well now. Thanks for watching and happy sailing! #sailingwindtherapy #caribbean #caribbeanlife #cruisinglife #sailinglife #stlucia #leopard45 #leopardcatamarans #mudbath

In this episode, we explore lots of cool stuff to do in Martinique. It's a very well developed island, modern, clean, full of history. We hiked from Petite Anse d'arlet to Anse d'arlet, tried to troubleshoot a problem with our inverter, explored the ruins from the deadly explosion of the Mount Pele volcano, and tried to figure out what the heck is clogging our holding tank. (It's a gross job, but someone has to do it.) Oh, and we actually hiked up Mt. Pele. This is a must do if you visit Martinique. This deadly volcano exploded in 1902, killing almost 30,000 people and sinking every ship in the harbor with its deadly fiery gas. One man survived the explosion because he was in solitary confinement in the local jail. He was found three days later with burns, but he was alive. After his recovery, he ran off and joined the circus. Yes, it's a true story. It's time to move on from Bequia and the Grenadines onboard our Leopard 45 Sailing Catamaran. We loved it there, but other islands are calling. Along the way north, we have very light winds and lots of sunshine, perfect for naked sailing. What a free feeling!!! The Pitons of St. Lucia are amazing, beautiful, majestic. We're looking forward to spending more time there next month. But for now, we're heading to Martinique to practice our French, stock up on cheese and rose wine, and celebrate New Years Eve 2024!!!

It's very helpful to be able to comfortably SCUBA dive when you live on a boat. Cleaning the bottom is easier, diving your anchor in deep water is easier, and diving is also just fun. We use our awesome Blu3 Nomad which is a floating lithium charged air compressor with a 30 foot hose. But, Adrienne had a traumatic experience when she was a teenager that has prevented her from enjoying SCUBA diving her entire life. In this episode, she discusses what happened and how she plans to get past it. Thanks for watching as we also explore the Tobago Cays, clean the bottom of our boat, deal with an ocean creature infection, and spend the holidays in Bequia.

We finally left Grenada and made our way to the Grenadines!!! In this episode, we sailed our Leopard 45 catamaran to Sandy Island, Carriacou. Then we left and headed toward the Sandy Lane Marina Resort on Canouan to pump out our clogged holding tank and enjoy a few days at the pool. The sail there was great. We hand-steered our way through the reefs of the Tobago Cays. Jeff did a great job by not hitting any of them! We had a great time at the marina and ended our stay watching the sunset from the hill while sipping champagne and keeping the turtles at bay. Thanks for watching!

After splashing Wind Therapy in Grenada our engine broke! A Broken valve spring causes all sorts of havoc. We are able to change the oil and do basic troubleshooting but rebuilding the the head is something we give to the professionals to do. So while waiting on that we rented a car and did a waterfall tour of Grenada. It was magnificent although driving was pretty challenging. Then we flew to St Barts for an epic party for our friends on sv happy together. Did we say EPIC? Awesome mechanic in Grenada.Thank you John Fairweather: https://www.bravomarinesystems.com

We finally made it back to Grenada after leaving Wind Therapy on the hard at Clark's Court Marina for 5 1/2 months. It was a great summer, and now it's time to get to work putting the boat back together so we can begin heading north. Everything was in good order when we returned. No bad smells, no bugs, no mold, just lots of wrinkled clothes! Join us as we figure this whole thing out. #sailingwindtherapy #sailing #sailinglife #caribbeanlife #grenada #sailboat #damonfowlerband #damonfowler #albertcastiglia
