How to Sail Offshore with no land in sight; our Amazing Adventure stars now! We step away from our electric sailboat refit and finally open hit waters on a sailing journey from Norfolk Virginia to Rhode Island. Through our million gay sailing channels on social media, we were introduced to a Captain who has helped with refit advice, sailing assistance, and all around life advice, who has kindly asked us to help him sail his Moody 46 from Virginia to Rhode Island. This is the Ixion crew's first voyage since running aground in January. Hayden takes Jake's place on this journey, but our favorite man will return soon! Watch as we road trip to Virginia and begin the jump to New York City! Now no one can say we aren't a sailing channel anymore! Haha This new adventure starts now! Don?t forget to subscribe! New Videos every week. Comment and let us know if we are insane with all these project ideas, and don?t forget to share! Looks like Sailing Bohemia isn't the only gay sailing channel on the water anymore! lol ?????????????????????????- Who we are: Nick and Jake, gay sailor and filmmakers fresh from Los Angeles currently living in Cape Cod. Cape Cod Canal, here we come, seasickness and fog won't stop us! Since running aground Jake has yet to go sailing; this week he starts the long process of learning to enjoy sailing again. Flashback to June for Pride month, and we sail to Provincetown Massachusetts to celebrate this joyous time of year, but not without struggles, Jake getting seasick. After a seemingly never-ending list of projects, we jump back to show you what was happening around the projects, and when we sailed to Provincetown with Captain Tom on his Moody 46. The short passage was off to a foggy and cold start, and to add insult to injury, Jake gets seasick for the second time in his life. But, it doesn't last long and everyone gets to enjoy a relaxing passage through the foggy Cape Cod Canal. It ends up being a relaxing, and typical, sail through New England, to Provincetown. Come back next week as we explore P-town in the hopes of finding venues for our wedding! *re uploaded due to a technical error we discovered* Don?t forget to subscribe! Catalina Smile Fix finally reaches its conclusion with the fiberglassing of the bilge. This diy project was one of the biggest we've done to date, but this sailboat will no longer need to worry about the Catalina smile. In our previous videos, we removed the keel bolts, removed the wood coring, and got ready to fiberglass. This week, we grind out the bilge to make sure it's ready for glass. After templating, we begin cutting the fiberglass, and installing it layer by layer. Also, we completely layout the process we followed to fix the Catalina smile that Catalina Yachts put out for sailors years ago so they could solve the problem on their own. With the completion of this project, we can moved on to what lies ahead and continue fixing our wrecked electric sailboat. Don?t forget to subscribe! New Videos every week. Comment and let us know if you too have done the Catalina smile fix and how you went about it! Perhaps one day we too will have the same refit acclaim as Sailing Uma! lol ?????????????????????????- ?????????????????????????- Who we are: Nick and Jake, gay sailor and filmmakers fresh from Los Angeles currently living in Cape Cod. Learning to sail again, that?s what this journey through New York was. The adventure we had been waiting for, was the adventure we all needed. After we wrecked our electric sailboat, we didn?t know what our sailing journey would look like. Would we take time off, or would we dive head first into some diy boat projects. Alas, we didn?t know. We stumbled along, guessing at what the future held for the Ixion crew. Enter Captain Tom, who found us via our channel and social media. This journey reinvigorated our love for adventure, travel, and sailing. Not only did it allow us to get our sea legs again, but it even allowed us to visit an iconic gay history spot in New York city. Not only did we get to live as sailors, but we got to embrace who we were as gay sailors. Watch along on our livestream as we detail moments you didn?t see in the videos, how it came about, and how it affected us for the future moving forward. Don?t forget to subscribe, and share and tell all your friends. We may be the little gay sailors that could, but we are nothing without your love and support! ________________________________________________ Who we are: Nick and Jake, gay sailor and filmmakers fresh from Los Angeles currently living in Cape Cod. The Perfect view of NYC via the East River + Sailing the Long Island sound, as Ixion crew aboard Aladdin a Moody 46 Sailboat, begin the final leg of their journey to Newport, Rhode Island After several exciting days exploring New York City, the journey continues as we travel up the East River and out of the city towards Long Island Sound. The crew gets to experience the city from a perspective so rarely seen by travelers. As the crew exits the East River, the wind fills in and everyone sets in for the remainder of the passage. After a smooth night of sailing, everyone returns safely to Rhode Island. Jake joins the crew and have a mini sit down interview with Captain Tom, our humble host, to get a little bit of wisdom from someone who has been sailing for 40+ years.
