Sailing St.Martin to Anguila and visit its stunning beaches and resorts. Some of the best beaches in the world we would say. Anguilla is probably the best sun & sand destination in the Caribbean. Following our short trip to the island of Saba, s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg Rassy 54) continues the cruise through the Leewards, departing French St. Martin and sailing the short distance over to British Anguilla. After a month on the busy and rather chaotic island of St. Martin, the small and low populated coral island of Anguilla seems like a holiday for us. Stunning beaches, beautiful resorts, very friendly people and a much less agitated way of life here. After a beam reach then a short windward sail, we anchor in Road Bay. The only safe place to moor. Then, in our usual fashion, we tour the island seeking out the best beaches and resorts. And enjoy a couple of beach days, kitesurfing before setting off westwards, to the British Virgin Islands. 26 February - 2 March 2019 Places we visited: Road Bay, Long Bay, Barnes Bay, Shoal Bay West, Maundays Bay, Cove Bay, Rendevous Bay, Little Bay, Crocus Bay, Shoal Bay, Savannah Bay, Windward Bay, Four Seasons Resort, Zemi Beach Hotel, Quintessence Hotel, Cap Juluca Hotel, Paradise Cove Resort.

Flying our ISTEC Parasailor spinnaker for the first time, as we sail downwind from Virgin Gorda to Tortola, BVI. Then tour the island along with the drone. As we sail west to Tortola, the wind is perfect to try our new ISTEC Parasailor spinnaker (228sqm), which Oana managed to find for sale on the internet. We are a bit nervous, but all goes well for a first sail. Not so with the drone, which was not cooperating and used up one of its nine-lives when we try to fly it! After snuffling the Parasailor, we make a lunch stop at Sandy Cay, next to Jost Van Dyke Island, then anchor in Cane Garden Bay and have an evening sunset stroll on the beach. Next day we move onto a mooring in Sopers Hole and tour all around Tortola in a rental car. 14-17 March 2019 Visited: Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Sandy Cay, Tortola, Cane Garden Bay, Sopers Hole Wharf, Nany Cay Marina, Road Town, Beef Island, Camanoe Island, Tellis Bay, Little Bay, Guana Island, Rogue Bay, Brewers Bay, Paraquita Bay, Christian?s bar on Road Town waterfront.

Perfect Caribbean sailing to the stunningly beautiful Anegada island, in the north of the British Virgin Islands. Scooter tour around the island and wonderful drone footage of the unspoiled natural environment. Following our exploration of Anguilla, we sail 80nm west to the British Virgin Islands and check-in at Virgin Gorda. Our 18nm day-sail up to Anegada was near perfect blue water sailing in the trade winds, arriving to turquoise coral waters. There, we help a charter yacht which was aground, enjoy the delights of the famous Anegada BBQ lobster then tour the island by scooter, visiting every corner. This island has stunning natural beauty both on its shoreline and interior lakes. We take a lot of drone footage, including catching a glimpse of the elusive flock of Pink Flamingos. You can really feel we are enjoying ourselves on this island. It is probably one of our all-time favorite places. We especially enjoyed Anegada Beach Club and, of course, kitesurfing over crystal clear shallow waters of the Atlantic shore. 8-12 March 2019 Visited: Neptunes Treasure, Lobster Trap, Anegada Reef Hotel, Flamingo Pond Lookout, Flash of Beauty, Deep Bay, Loblolly Bay, Table Bay, Whispering Pines, Anegada Beach Club, Cow Wreck

Sailing to the joint Dutch-French island of St. Maarten (St. Martin) where we stayed for 1 month, doing maintenance, attending a multihull regatta, exploring and trying kite-foiling. After our short stay in St. Barts, s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg-Rassy 54) set sail to St. Maarten. First anchoring in Simpson Bay then moving into the inner lagoon for perfect shelter, easy access to shore and all the marine services that St. Maarten is famous for. While Oana took a 3-week break and flew back home to visit family, Glen did a lot of maintenance, including fixing the vang and gooseneck at FKG Rigging, having the fridges vacuumed, canvas work, adding stowage to the bilge and lots more. In between jobs there was some exciting racing on a 60ft Rapido trimaran in the St. Maarten multihull regatta. Later, taking Cloudy for a test sail, we passed several famous super yachts: The A, Obramavich?s Eclipse, David Getta?s Rising Sun and Steve Jobs? Venus. Cloudy Bay was then re-anchored on the French side of the island in Marigot Bay. On Oana?s return we toured the island in our usual fashion, but in general found it very run down and uninspiring, especially the French side, which still looked like the hurricane hit it just yesterday. Finally, before we departed, we took the ferry over to the island of Saba ? but that?s another video. 28 January ? 26 February 2019

Sailing to St. Barts, the St. Tropez of the Caribbean. Exploring the beaches, nightlife and the exotic town. With an unfavorable forecast, s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg-Rassy 54) departed St. Eustatius earlier than anticipated and motored the short distance NNE to the French island of St. Barts. We anchored in the crowded bay outside Gustavia port, surrounded by an interesting mixture of semi abandoned boats and super yachts. Having explored the historic town with all its classy shopping, we took a hire car and set off around the island. First observing aircraft doing their tricky landing on the infamous down-slope St. Barts runway, then heading to the many beaches and resorts around the island. We visited Anse de Flamands, Cheval Blanc resort, Anse de Cayes, Baie de St.Jean, Anse de Lorient, watch surfers off the Christopher Hotel, Anse de Grand Cul de Sac and its wonderful Le Barthelemy Hotel, Anse de Saline and Plage Gouverneur. On the last day, we departed the rolly conditions off Gustavia and moved north into Anse de Colombier, a beautifully secluded bay only reachable by boat or on foot. On its southern side lies the abandoned beach house built and once owned by the Rothchild family. 21-28 January 2019

3 day visit to the Dutch Island of Saba, where we go diving and have a wonderful walk around the central volcanic peak. One of the best Caribbean islands, and probably the most unspoiled one. Saba does not have any sheltered waters, so we decided to leave s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg Rassy 54) safely at anchor in St. Martin and take the fast ferry. Saba is a rather unique island, with no beaches and essentially one steep volcanic peak jutting out the sea. We stayed in a boutique hotel in the village of Windward and spent one day hiking a well laid trail, which goes all the way around the volcano. Saba is also famous for its scuba diving and we were not disappointed with our 2 dives, even if it was rather rough conditions to enter and exit the water. 22-24 February 2019

From our anchorage in Oracabessa we sailed the short distance west to Ocho Rios, a major tourist center in Jamaica. Ocho Rios is the place where Glen?s parents had their happiest holiday, back in 1967. By record of his Mum?s diary, we visited their hotel and all the places they enjoyed during their 10 days holiday. Their hotel, The Shaw Park, still existed and even after 53 years it appeared to be surprisingly unchanged. The beautiful Dunn?s River Falls, with its amazing river cascading all the way to the sea, turned out to be the highlight of Jamaica for us. Glen sprinkled some of his parents ashes in all places that they had enjoyed. We also visited Fern Gully, Shaw Park gardens and the Runaway Caves near to Discovery Bay. 4-6 Mar 2020
