Sponsored by @FridayPartsOfficial https://ca.fridayparts.com Winter is coming and I need to sort out the boat before the rain returns. I'll have to shelve the generator for now. A big thanks to Aleks for his coaching and Erin, Ryan, Luke, Aladino, Maya and Taylor for their help at various parts of this massive project. This episode represents a lot of work hours, and it wouldn't have worked out half as nice without all of their help. This build is made possible by you and your support. This week I repair almost everything I broke on this engine after firing it up for the first time. It's not surprising I got a few things wrong, this is my first time building an engine, and the first diesel I've ever worked on. Honestly I'm just glad I've got this far. https://youtu.be/uMMoNaql-BM?si=XQeIT2egkP6t3bTf I definitely wasn't excited to rebuild a transmission. This took way too long, and I was also splitting my time in Nanaimo helping Ryan on his boat haul out. Editing this episode down from nearly 6 hours of footage was quite the hurdle for my aging laptop. But we persist and get through it. This build is made possible by you and your support. This was a really uplifting project, bringing back some of the spark that got me into sewing canvas in the first place. I've been totally burnt out on this work, and I'm not looking to start up work again just yet, I have too much to do for my boat, but when the time is right I'll get back into it. A big thank you to Maya and Aladino for their help with my projects over the years and their continued friendship, it was an honour to add something to their beautiful boat.
