Because we are planning to go back to the Netherlands, we are selling our Dean 365 cat. The last 5 years we lived, sailed, ate, worked and slept full-time on our boat in the Med, and refitted and upgraded it. It's a great liveaboard boat. And off-grid. The only thing we miss, is a vegetable garden on the foredeck :-) But there are big solar panels with their electrics, 560Ah LiFePO4 house batteries, 3000W inverter, full size washing machine, a 12V watermaker that runs on solar, large kitchen, kingsize bed, etc. The boat has been built with thick GRP and double the rigging of most cats, and it doesn't make creaking & cracking sounds at full sea, like many modern boats. We sailed from Tabarka, in the northwest of Tunisia, to Mallorca. The crossing took us 3 days and nights, we caught our first tuna ever, had a good average speed, and we don't like night shifts :-)

Exodos is sailing from Monastir, at the eastcoast of Tunisia, to Tabarka, at the northwestern coast. 3 nights, no yachts at all, and a large group of dolphins that stayed with us for 1.5 hrs. Some nice sailing, and some emotions of being back at sea :-)

We made a one week long trip through Tunisia with a rental, most of which through the Sahara desert. We have seen a huge colosseum, slept in a cave hostel, went to oases, made a visit to the Tatooine Star Wars filmset in the desert, rode on camels and did some other stuff . We had a great time! We decided to put new gelcoat on the hulls, because the yellowness was really ugly after the white reparations. Never done it, but you got to start somewhere, right? :-) And then we did the antifouling, after which our little boat looked so much better! At the boat yard of Monastir we close up 2 thru hull holes and make a new one for the watermaker inlet. Anja is busy with gelcoat reparations and I re-shape the damaged keel. Temperatures go over 40 degrees Celsius! Anja's blog: https://www.anjakeesmaat.com/blog

We had blisters under the waterline, needed to repair the nut that holds the steering wheel in place, and we needed to shake our heads a few times because of some external stupidity, but we had a good time, working together. Yes, it was a disaster to get a new st st arch on Exodos! Really nothing was right, no 90 degrees angles, nothing parallel, they tried to make it level while the boat wasn't level, and even corrected the wrong pieces of pipe in the wrong direction. It's a miracle the new arch didn't explode :-) The video only gives a representation of the least disastrous moments. In a huge storm the starboard hull slammed on the key, because of which we lost the bulb that protected it. So, now we built a new one from pvc pipe, a toilet floater, fiberglass and epoxy. First time in Africa! This time a real sailing video. And visits from dolphins and a dove. We sailed from Licata at Sicily, to Monastir in Tunisia, because we needed to go on the hard for some reparations. Siciliy was no option, because they were waaaay to expensive, and we couldn't work on the boat ourselves. So we thought it was a good opportunity to see something of Africa, where we have never been. After half a year not being able to repair our Mercury 10hp outboard, and a Mercury dealer also failed, and I wanted to dump it in the deepest sea, two sailing neigbhours in Sicily were sure they could find the problem.
