From Fort William we take all close to 30 locks across a couple of lochs straight to Inverness on the east side of Scotland

Pablo and Anna on Kairos try to catch up with the fleet of the GLY Nordic Rally after their repairs in Lorient. The plan is to sail in one go to Fort William and then take our time to enjoy the canal.

Mark joins the very first Outremer 52 on their first ocean crossing towards the start of the upcoming GLY Nordic Rally in the Canaries. Perfect change to have a look at the 52 and double check ideas for our future 64.

Every ending is a new beginning as in this episode we hand over our loyal compagnion 40.000 miles around the world but only after signing an agreement on a very special new Outremer catamaran.

Of course we grab the chance to have a look at all the catamarans exposed on the show. We think we have found a clear winner in the end, securing another 5 years of sailing fun.

Sorry I refuse to use titles like "we ripped our main in 42 knots apparent and nearly lost the mast". Even though that's what actually happened?. We get only a small window between an easterly and a westerly storm to sail Greatcircle to the show in Cannes.

Back in La Grande Motte we meet up with our friends, find 3 different Gunboats, test sail the Outremer 52 and prepare for the Cannes Boat Show

The last couple of years orcas have been attacking boats around Spain and Portugal. The area between Barbate and Gibraltar seems to be the rudder biting hot spot for them. Playing games or taking revenge, not very relevant. We just want to bring the boat safely back to La Grande Motte. The most effective strategy seems to be to stay as close to the coast as possible, so that's what we will do.

Not less than 2 members of Team Greatcircle seize the opportunity to visit us there and we had a wonderful time. Sailing in this area is a bit exciting at the moment as over 700 boats have already been attacked by orcas of which several have been severely damaged or even sunk. We follow the coast line very closely and will even decrease the average depth once we will cross the Portuguese / Spanish border.

After celebrating the end of our GLYWO rally around the world with the remaining boats in Ponta Delgada on the Azores we still have another part of the North Atlantic crossing to complete. Plenty of wind, first upwind than reaching. There's a whole lotta shaking going on .... Special guest star Nina makes sure we get enough sleep by taking part of the nightwatch via the web ....

On our way to Terceira we suddenly notice that the forestay doesn't look as healthy as normal ....

It's our last big ocean crossing in our around the world rally. We leave Bermuda da to sail a little less than 2000 miles east to the famous sailor town of Horta on the island of Faial in the Azores. Right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean with fast moving weather systems all around. No simple downwind trade wind sailing. This is a leg where we constantly have to pay attention to decide where to go. Nina, the queen of the night watch, is helping us again on this leg

Not easy to ind the right routing and avoid the worst spots dodging the thunderstorms of a big low. Stephan and Jeannette join us on this crossing along the borders of the Bermuda Triangle.

Nice new rudders on Greatcircle at the last GLYWO technical stop in Martinique before we sail north towards the Dutch Caribbean islands of St Eustatius and Saba, both for the very first time

On the second Greatcircle we never sailed to Santa Lucia and the Grenadines. On the first Greatcircle we didn't go to the Grenadines either. We were there on a charter cat over 20 years ago and on Seatramp in January 2019. Not too much worries about the definition of circumnavigating, let's just sail to Martinique again as the new rudders are already arriving there.

What's the definition of sailing around the world? In over 2,5 year we've sailed about 35.000 nautical miles now on the Outremer 55. In total we must have sailed over 60.000 miles now, about 3 times the circumference of the planet. We already saw all longitudinals on this earth month ago, and even on a sailboat. In this episode we will actually cross our wake in the Grenadines, albeit the wake of the other boats we've sailed on in the Caribbean before. In next episode we will finally be in the exact same spot again where this second Greatcircle has been before.

We were kind of waiting for it to happen and of course it did, we lost our starboard rudder in the middle of a 2000 nautical mile ocean crossing
