After not so easy sail from Egypt we arrive in Jordan, Aqaba fairy tale look a like Ayla Marina. We savor the delicious meals, delightful looks and cheap internet. What else one might need? Exercise :D After nearly 3 days sail we need some action and movement and find just right that in the same development as our marina. We lost ourselves as kids in a playground.

With little time to go we made sure Liger was ready to have the mast put back on and be relaunched before our Italian visa ran out. While our departure from Monfalcone was delayed slightly by bad weather, it was okay as it gave us time to carefully tension the rigging using our new Dillion tension meter and make sure everything was stowed and ready to make the passage to Split, Croatia. After 3 months on the hard stand, we are happily back in the water!

Is the Excess 14 going to be a competitor to the Nautitec 44 open? or are they blazing forward with a catamaran that has loads of volume boasts good cruising speeds and is at an affordable price for a catamaran in this size range? I will admit to taking a shine to the Excess 14.

We came back to Aquarius after two months, therefore now is the time to check the systems, do some upgrades and most importantly - we already knew since Pemba that we need to change the C drive oil and seals - therefore we need to haul out Aquarius. But since hour out facilities are problematic to find - we have no choice but tho careen on the careening poles.
And that’s scary! We never done nor saw our friend do anything like that. Please wish us good luck and join us!

We spent some time in Nongsa Point Marina, Batam, Indonesia, where we gather back our energy back after tuff sail and prepare Aquarius for the end of season. After intense Egypt exploration for couple of weeks we are back on Aquarius hoping for a well deserved rest and relax, but it wasn't easy - mosquitos, flies, remote location with only basic provisioning and not even a chance to swim... But we surrounded by cheap 5* all inclusive hotels - and as the saying goes: when life gives you lemons, make a lemonade!
So we did! And finally get some rest. With clear head we weighted our options and even we still had a week in the Port Ghalib marina we decided to leave to Jordan.
Seemed like fairly easy and short passage across Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba, with forecasted light winds...
Well it was not exactly the case - watch the video to see it yourself ;)

Hello Friends,

One year ago today I untied the lines from Marina del Rey, California and pushed for Hawaii. I have sailed 5,500nm during that time, visited more than 20 anchorages on 6 different islands and 2 atolls in 3 different countries.

After an amazing 9 months in Hawaii I pointed Triteia's bow for the Southern Cross and sailed to French Polynesia. The passage video will premiere on September 12th, exactly 1 year to the day of my arrival to Oahu after my ill-fated passage.
