The BoatFools Top 10 Sailboats for Sale in Florida for Under $40k are tagged and bagged! Back in October we found the top 10 sailboats for sale in Florida for under $25k and there were some great finds - but these take the cake. Now, just because the asking prices are creeping up close to $40,000, doesn't mean you should OFFER that amount. It's a buyer's market, for sure, so aim low if you're a buyer. In fact if you find a boat you like, think of an offering price that would make you uncomfortable to offer. Got it? That's the number you should present to the seller or broker! You're not going to hurt anyone's feelings - and you never know what might happen! I know of people who ended up receiving a sailboat for FREE and another friend who negotiated 50% off the asking price. It can happen. But, it won't happen if you don't ask.
So, the three of us were in the HQ to present these sailboats - which was a lot of fun. Each of us selected 3 boats, plus one general wild card boat that we chose together, for a total of 10. There is a very sweet selection of boats on this list and they are from all over the great state of Florida. We think you'll like them.

Morse Point Anchorage to Forney Cove, Santa Cruz Island of the Channel Islands of California.
The last week of 2017 I took an amazing solo sailing trip to the Channel Islands. I visit six anchorages on Santa Cruz Island before sailing for Catalina Island and tying up in Isthmus Cove for New Years Eve and meeting up with Meital. We sailed back on New Years Day enjoying sunshine, great wind and thousands of dolphins.
I awoke in the very rolly anchorage of Morse Point and waste no time heading out to Forney Cove which is located on the western most point of the island. A glassy motorsail with only a light breeze on my bow finds me cruising into the very projected anchorage of Forney Cove.
I went ashore, hiked and explored and returned at sunset to get some amazing drone footage of this incredible anchorage.
While I was on my trip I started my first podcast and the first episode is up online now. The podcast is titled “A STERN VIEW” and is something of a cruising guide to anchorages and sailing destinations. Each episode is recorded on location and I cover everything I know about the anchorage from my research and experience at the anchorage.
I also kept a journal in my logbook and will be posting them as a blog with still photos. This will act as support to the A STERN VIEW podcast as will each new video episode that features the anchorage covered in the podcast episodes.

I'm trying to sail around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.
Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since.

THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME!!!! We are hauling out to fix Triteia's rudder once and for all! On this episode I untie from Ala Wai Harbor and make my way over to the Keehi Marine Center for my 8am haul out time.
They workers were standing on the dock at 7:30 when I motored up and wasted no time getting. Triteia out and up on jack stands and ready for me to get to work. To say I was nervous would be a gross understatement.
By the end of the day I had Triteia all prepared for welding and got her entire bottom sanded for a fresh coat of antifouling.

Life in the anchorage near Split, Croatia has been relaxing with a bit of drama. We were visited by the Croatian navy one morning ordering us to move the yacht immediately, and later found an unexpected item under the boat, trapping our anchor chain.
