Mein längster Blauwassertörn, 35 Tage auf See. Ich segle allein auf Reykja, einer 35jährigen Stahlyacht. Es geht durch den Panama Kanal nach Hiva Oa, Französisch Polynesien. Rund 8000 Kilometer ist die Stecke lang. Dieser Teil des Pazifik ist abgelegen, ich sehe während der ganzen Zeit kein einziges Schiff. Dafür eine Menge anderes.

This week, I am still in Sint Maarten, finishing up some minor projects before tackling one of the biggest changes on this boat yet! Day-to-day life on a sailboat during project season can get a bit mundane and uneventful, but it's a large part of this life that allows us to eventually get off-grid and explore remote places!

We left St. Lucia and headed towards St. Vincent and The Grenadines. And we loved it so much - amazing views, very nice people and the most beautiful Tobago Cays... Just... Zivile got burned and we had to make a quick stop at a doctor's office. That did not stop us form having fun and visited Bequia, Canouan and Tobago Cays... We also sail by "the billionaire island" Mustique...

Hello Friends,
On this episode I depart Savusavu at midnight and make way for the former leper colony island of Makogai Island. Makogai is now under the care of the Marine Fisheries department and is where they grow all of the coral for the Fijian Islands as well as growing the endangered Giant Clams. They also use the facilities as a nursery for sea turtles when they are hatching.

I have an amazing visit with the only two occupants of island, Pau and Mary. Heard about there life there and got a tour of the grounds.

Unterwegs zu den Herald Cays. Zwei keine Inseln im australischen Korallen-Meer. Aber Reykja ist ein Wrack. Der Motor der Ankerwinsch hat seinen Geist aufgegeben. Vier Stunden später riss der Keilriemen zwischen Steuerrad und Hydraulik. Ersatzteile sind schwer zu beschaffen und es dauert. Unmöglich kann ich so lange vor Anker liegen und warten. Das würde mich verrückt machen. Also starte ich. Ich werde an Grenzen gehen und viel improvisieren. Aber das ist Teil vom Segeln.

Sailing along the coast of Sumbawa island in West Nusa Tenggara. We stop in couple of small towns. One of them Wava is special as here the Pinisi - specific Indonesian boats are built. Next place we visit is even more exotic - extinct volcano island Satonda with a lake inside! And 1000 of flying foxes… And some other cool places. By the way - this time as per may subscribers suggestion I didn’t use much music so you can enjoy raw sailing sounds.

The forestay swivel was damaged while scaling downwind with the ballooner up, and we ended up loosing all our balls.. We had to rebuild the forestay swivel, while the swivel was still on the forestay. What fun! At the end of the video I show how the forestay swivel is used to fly the ballooner. Hope you enjoy.

I believe it will be no surprise for you that we fell in love with Croatia - despite a sudden storm when Aquarius dragged or this recent nature show doesn’t change it - I can confidently say that between 43 countries that we visited with Aquarius so far - Croatia definitely gets into TOP 5
So it was hard for us to decide - stay longer in Croatia as we explored only a small part of it or continue with our plan in The Med - there are still many countries to visit: Italy, France, Spain, Morocco and the sailing Season in the Med is already coming to end soon - so we decide to go - but we still have all the way back to Dubrovnik and still some cool places to visit.

We sailed from Placencia Belize in a Loepard 40 ft catamaran to the privately own island of North Saddle Caye where the Paraiba Cove Resort is being built. We were given a private tour by the manager and caretaker of the resort. The island is totally off-grid with 60 kilowatts of solar panels, 8 tesla power walls, 10,000 gallons of rain water cisterns and a reverse osmosis water maker. The resort can sleep 24 guests and has 5 infinity pools amoung 4 villas.
