Last year I made the decision to branch out of my comfort zone (The Bahamas) and sail to Grenada for hurricane season. The Bahamas is not an easy place to leave, but eventually a beautiful weather window approached and it was time to really leave. Not only was I leaving a place I called home, but I was heading offshore for multiple days alone! My longest single-handed passage up until this point was 36-40 hours and now I was going for multiple days AND into one of the most feared passages; the Mona Passage. Adam Stern hosts Deep Week, the largest freediving camp, in locations around the world. This is the first time he has hosted Deep Week in the Bahamas. It was held at Dean's Blue Hole, the 2nd deepest blue hole in the world. We managed to fit over 50 freedivers into the blue hole and had a fun, fast-paced week filled with a LOT of freediving, theory, family dinners, and a fun sailing 'rest' day!

A typical week of my life living on a sailboat! I am finally headed BACK!! My friend from high school joins me on our sail from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau. We were on a time constraint to get there before our other friends got on to celebrate New Years Ever and also wanted to beat the east wind coming... which we *almost* did. This was easily one of the most intense sails I have had.

Sailors are always dreaming of the next upgrade; whether it be a days or years away. I have been planning this upgrade for over a year and this week it is coming to life! This welding team at Spice Island Marine has surpassed any expectation I could have had producing this beautiful arch and davit. I no longer have to take the engine off the raise the dinghy and I can add more solar!
