J109 Going to Red was in the presence of sailing royalty during the Offshore race at Volvo Cork Week 2024. IMP slipped by to leeward as the J109 GTR raced off to the Gybe Mark before heading into the finish line in Cork Harbour. Underwater area of sailing boat on video is covered with so called blanket. Last time bottom was cleaned about year ago. The idea is that on the so-called blanket, marine growth will be less caught, and what gets caught will be easy to remove. The result of the test is that a lot of marine growth was collected, which even the high-pressure washing could not remove. It had to be removed with scraper.
