Giorno 333 - giornata all’ancora Sapete quando piove, inizia il clima più fresco? Ecco. Qui a Crotone è arrivato il grigio. L’umidità. La pioggia, le nuvole. E dire che l’estate finisce il 21 settembre. Tutto in contrasto con un mare placido e immobile. Oggi la gatta si è fatta aspirare i peli, cosa assurda se pensiamo che a casa le bastava sentire il rumore da lontano dell’aspirapolvere per scappare di corsa. Oggi lavoriamo tutto il giorno al computer fino a quando non arriva l’ora dell’intervista con @marcocasario. Che bella chiacchierata, abbiamo toccato argomenti simpatici, altri più profondi, siamo partiti da un viaggio come spostamento nel mondo a un viaggio nella gestione della finanza personale. Davvero un’intervista con la I maiuscola, di quelle in cui mettersi a nudo arricchisce anche noi. Presto vi daremo il link per rivederla. La sera arriva veloce, la notte scende prepotente. Most cruisers practice abandoning ship, extinguishing fires, and handling medical emergencies, yet we are far more likely to face self-defense threats than those other situations. So Nicole and I also practice self-defense, building the skills and mindset we will be grateful to have if/when they are needed. In this scenario we deploy a Byrna Mission 4 rifle and Byrna EP pistol against an unwelcome “intruder”, an aggressive “dog,” and stationary “threats” at various distances and directions. We start with the rifle and pistol stowed, incorporating movement, as well as quickly reloading both weapons. When I watch this, I notice a lot that I did “right” including- not muzzle sweeping Nicole, good pistol reload, mostly accurate shots, good verbal challenge, etc. There is a lot I can improve including- rifle was held too low during reload, I took too long to deploy pistol from waist pack, my stance was off balance with pistol, etc. What do you notice I did well? What can I improve? Is it time for you to train?
