Sailing the San Blas Islands offers a breathtaking experience, but it requires both expert crew and careful planning due to the challenging conditions. Unlike other popular Caribbean destinations, bareboat charters are not allowed in San Blas because of uncharted waters, hidden reefs, and a lack of reliable marine infrastructure such as marinas and supply stores. The more than 365 islands are often surrounded by coral reefs, making navigation risky without local knowledge. To ensure a safe and enjoyable voyage, charters typically come with a skilled skipper and an inclusive provisioning plan, covering everything from fresh water and basic supplies to access to fresh seafood from local Guna fishermen. Catamaran Adventures offers discounts on charters not needing the provisioning, deckhand or cook. Contact us for further details.

Sailing around the remote Indonesian island of Sulawesi, we rely on satellite imagery to find stunning, safe anchorages. In this episode we do just that with our buddy boaters at an amazing beach where the dense, tropical jungle cascades down the mountainous coast to meet powder white sand, fringed by vivid corals in crystal clear water. For ocean travellers like us, Indonesia is certainly a nation of wonders.

► On Thursday May 22, Catana Group held an open day at its brand-new production facility for Yot, its new range of powercats. Located on the shores of a perfectly sheltered stretch of water in Aveiro, just south of Porto, in Portugal, the 5-acre (20,000 m²) site is adjacent to that of Xquisite Yachts. This is where the Yot 36 and 41 are produced, ahead of a larger model which we’ll be hearing more about very soon. The shipyard will eventually employ 450 people and have an annual production capacity of 200 units. The day was an opportunity for our senior reporter Brieuc Maisonneuve to sail aboard the Yot 36 (see test in Multihulls World N195: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/yot-36-the-new-wave-of-twin-hulled-motorboating) this time equipped with twin 400 HP V10 Mercury engines – enough to reach 43 knots! ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests!
