We live in New Zealand and Cyclone Gabrielle formed just south of the Solomon Islands and tracked down the East Coast of New Zealand in February 2023. Whilst we were very fortunate to make it through this experience unharmed, Cyclone Gabrielle caused widespread devastation in our home town of Hawke's Bay and along the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Mexico is home to all types of amazing marine life—from huge shoals of mobula rays to great white sharks. One of the coolest things to do while staying in Mexico though is to go snorkeling with these silky sharks which hang out just off the coast line. Not to worry, these sharks are very docile and completely safe to swim with.
