Our 40 day, 5555 NM crossing of the Atlantic is just about done. We expect to arrive in Grenada just after midnight on the morning of the 29th. We were able to visit the island of St Helena for 3 days and the island of Fernando de Noronha for 2 days, but otherwise it’s been eat, sleep, sail, repeat. We’ve been on every point of sail and used every sail in our inventory EXCEPT the storm sail. We’ll do a recap soon, but we just wanted to send out a quick highlight. Want more? These clips are from onboard the MOD70 Race For Water which is currently lying third in the Rolex Fastnet Race just ahead of her sistership Veolia Environement. They've just gone round the Rock and are flying! These videos showing Steve Ravussin steering the 6.5 ton rocket ship are from the last Friday of Cowes Week when editor David Glenn sailed round the Isle of Wight for a quick demo. We hit 30.7 knots between St Catherine's and Bembridge and despite stopping for half an hour to fix the main hull rudder got round in less than 4 hours. Eight of the MOD70s have been sold for a major world tour of passage racing and inshore round the cans stuff. Watch out for an upcoming feature in Yachting World.
