The @NorthropJohnson video team and I embarked on our biggest ever project a few weeks ago, filming the awesome 77 meter yacht "MALIA". A team of 8 spent 4 days on board and filmed real people, doing things that people really do on a charter, and having a REALLY good time! I'm extremely proud of the resulting project. Our yachts are built with ease of ownership in mind, and this is why, if you need to remove a hidden deck fitting we’ve attached, there will be GRP packing around the nuts below the deck. Not only does this prevent any ingress of water around the fitting, it means that any bolt or machine screw can be removed and replaced on your own, and without having to remove any of the interior. Anyone who has unscrewed a bolt, and heard the tell-tale clatter of a nut falling off, will know the sinking realisation that a quick job has now become a long job. The headlining and possibly parts of the interior will need to be removed to access the bolt. We never want that to happen to you. There may be times when deck fittings need to be repaired or replaced. Seagull is flying high in this one. We make a scheduled stop at Mayflower Marina for a quick lift and hold. We used the jet wash free of charge to give her bottom a good scrub, greased the propeller and cleaned the anodes. All was fine so she went straight back in the water. Excellent summer package deal, thanks Mayflower Marina. Our Coppercoat application continues to impress us with it's performance. The only fouling we had was on our keel cooled fridge and bolts on the anode, which have no protection. We would never go back to ablative antifoul.
