I giorni passano e si avvicina sempre di più il secondo grande salto. Sono passati ormai 3 mesi quasi da quando siamo arrivati qui e davanti a noi abbiamo ancora quasi un mese. Un mese in cui prepareremo Julia (carena, rigging, check motore, check vele,…) e prepareremo noi! Ci aspetteranno più o meno 18 giorni tra st marteen e le Azzorre, ma il periodo dovrebbe essere uno dei migliori. Comunque, non vi perderete nulla. Come sempre, verrete con noi e seguirete da vicino i preparativi. Un abbraccio forte a tutti, la testa inizia a tornare a casa! E avremo mille modi per incontrarci tutti insieme, stiamo già pensando a qualcosa…… ma è troppo presto per parlarne!! A domani, che è SABATO! Andrea

The biggest advantage is sail flexibility. Rather than having one enormous headsail, the sail area is divided between two sails. As conditions change, the skipper can change the combination of sails being used. For example, in stronger wind you might furl or drop the large outer jib and sail with just the staysail and a reefed mainsail. That gives you smaller, more manageable sails while keeping the sailplan relatively balanced.
