Pour battre le record, détenu depuis le 25 décembre 2016 par Thomas Coville en 49 jours 3 heures 4 minutes et 28 secondes, François Gabart devra couper la ligne d’arrivée avant le 23 décembre à 13h09 (heure française) sur son trimaran MACIF. En plus de travailler sans relâche pour faire avancer son trimaran de 30 mètres le plus rapidement possible, il devra donc bénéficier d’un enchaînement de conditions météo favorables. The 2021 Irish Sailing All Ireland Championships took place at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven. The event saw 16 invited competitors from different Irish Sailing affiliated classes compete in the same boat, the National 18s, in order to find the 'champion of champions'. The 2021 All Ireland Champion was three-time Olympian Ger Owens with crew Ross Killian.
