GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. 11 gennaio 2020 partenza della Cape2Rio. A bordo di Almagores 2 saranno 17 giorni di traversata, di regata, di avventure, di foto, di video. Ne ho fatto un diario che ora vi racconto 18 video dalla partenza a Cape Town all'arrivo a Rio. +15 Si apre un po il cielo malgrado ancora qualche groppi passeggeri più di pioggia che di vento. Si viaggia bene con gennaker in rotta a una media di 12 nodi. Dopo una cena con filetto al gorgonzola e patate al forno, il cielo ci regala un bellissimo tramonto con all’ultimo respiro, quando sparisce del tutto il sole nel mare, una bellissima luce verde. Il cielo si tinge poi di rosa, viola, arancione, che sembra un quadro impressionista. Ancora sotto il fascino dei colori vediamo piccoli delfini che saltano completamente fuori dell’acqua. Sembra che anche loro sono euforici del spettacolo di colori.
