The very curious Sharptail Eel is often confused for a sea snake however is harmless and even quite friendly with divers. Sharptail Eels and other snake eels have sharply pointed tails and prominent nostrils which differentiates them from a variety of highly venomous sea snakes who do not live in the Caribbean Sea. An important differentiation for divers to note.
