Join Us for Epic Spinnaker Sailing on a Catamaran! #shorts | Harbors Unknown It's so hard to put into words what a downwind wing on wing spinnaker sail on a catamaran feels like, especially on the #Seawind1600 ! The beauty of the huge colorful sail, sound of wind filling the light cloth, sunlight shimmering on the fabric, gurgling sound of the bow cutting through the water. It's such a special experience. We sold our home at the beginning of the pandemic (May 27th, 2020) and moved aboard our Seawind 1600 #catamaran, Wanderlust, in September. We plan to sail her to Harbors Unknown, and explore the world's vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere. Connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how those dishes can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources. We share our adventures as a sailing couple living on a boat and how it's possible to live an #alternativelifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment. Toni and I had the opportunity to check out the first Seawind 1370 in the United States. We did not think twice and headed up to Sail Away Catamarans to enjoy a demonstration sail on Damsel Fly. The 1370 is only 4 feet longer than the 1260, but it is a very different boat. There were things we liked and things we did not, so like every other boat known to mankind, it comes down to compromises. Like all Seawinds, she sailed very nicely in the low winds.
