SCOOCH is nicely updated and well maintained Bermuda 40 Classic yawl, recently donated to Maine Maritime Academy and available for a three-year lease-to-own charter. From 2022-24, Crocker’s Boatyard in Massachusetts completed a $200,000 refit to include a 40hp Nanni (Kubota) diesel engine, new air conditioning with revere cycle heat, almost all new wiring, new SeaFrost refrigeration, new Garmin electronics, new head system and holding tank, and new water heater, plus many other smaller ancillary and connected items. A new option is to black anodize or powder-coat the majority of the aluminum and stainless steel fittings located around the boat. The mast, boom, cross-beam, longeron and seagull striker can also be wrapped in a carbon fiber vinyl. These were both first done on Hull 10, "Umbono" (Vision in Zulu) which was launched October 20, 2022. It looks great and provides a very bold look. We have decided not to go this route, but it does look really nice, especially with a non-white hull color! Want more?
