A gennaker é uma vela nova que vem sendo utilizada desde 1990, principalmente para veleiros de regata. Ela foi projetada para compensar a diferença no ângulo de ataque do vento entre uma genoa e um spinnaker. O que importa durante as manobras é muito mais fácil do que com um balão, é a vela ideal se tiver uma tripulação pequena. Devido à sua geometria, um gennaker tem menos probabilidade de entrar em colapso do que um spinnaker, tornando-a uma vela de suporte mais estável. We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard).
