It was time for us to leave the Marina. We decided to leave and go anchor for a week to test our systems and knowledge before heading south. This was the moment we had been working towards.

Home built Transit 38 sailing catamaran by Woods Designs in the Bahamas 2011 Overtaking a motoring Norseman 43 catamaran even with no one steering (our autopilot was broken). When we first saw the Norseman it was sailing to windward on the same course as we were. But we caught it up quickly and, as always, the slower boat started its engines and dropped sails. I raced a Norseman 43 in the Capetown to Rio race, see my website for more details I also have a range of other multihull designs, both power and sail from 14-45ft that you can build yourself from plans. See www.sailingcatamarans.com
