Shorts skab

When the seas make navigation difficult and fatigue causes confusion, we search for beacons of light to help guide our way. We welcome these beacons of light as they bring us comfort and remind us that all will be well. They allow us to reset our course. When we put them abeam, we slow down and make a Moment in Time to remind ourselves of all those that have gone before us and all those that will follow behind. These are the most familiar beacons for Toni and I. How many are familiar to you? Feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts. Subscribe and share the adventure! Become part of the conversation by liking https://www.facebook.com/SV.MomentsInTime/ As always, please feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts.

Scarfing is a fundamental technique in wooden boatbuilding. We often don't have long enough material to build boats so we use a joint called a scarf to create the lengths we need. Follow our series "Building the Catalina Wherry" to see all the different ways we use scarf joints.
