The name "Quartersplash" comes from the second owner who raced cars and almost broke the land speed record in the quarter mile dash. We are the third owner and purchased Quartersplash nearly three years ago in La Paz, BCS, but circumstances have changed upon the purchase of a home within a few miles of Puerto Escondido marina. She is light, nimble, and beautiful. We have enjoyed our time on the Sea with her and hope to find someone else who enjoys her as much as we did. Quartersplash is an ideal Sea of Cortez exploration vessel. Very stable, economical and comfortable platform sailing or at anchor. We made numerous additions and upgrades to Quartersplash. This a boat that is at home on the hook, dockside, or underway. She is an excellent sailing boat and comfortable to be on while offshore or at anchor. It is easily sailed single-handed as all lines lead back to the helm which has an electric winch. The helm can be fully enclosed in the event of inclement weather. The dodger provides excellent visibility and protection. Instrumentation includes a new (2022) Furuno depth sounder/fish finder; Raymarine Wheel Pilot, chart plotter, two USB outlets and an AC at the helm. The last time this boat was in a marino or tied up to a dock was february. I. Made the choice at that time to start cruising the tennessee river and anchoring out full time. Tennessee is a weird place as it doesn't have any personal property tax. Or income tax, and since I am avoiding rent and mortgage. I don't pay anyone to exist. Of course, I buy food. I have solar power and I run a generator for air conditioning. However, every first of the month comes and I don't Have to pay anyone... I. Have been living free for several years on this channel in several ways from R. V to sailboat to house boat all along the way. Figuring out how to live without paying anyone.
