Step aboard MANDATE, a 1996 Tayana 58 built for serious cruising, extended time aboard, and comfortable offshore passagemaking. Designed by Peter Beeldsnijder, MANDATE combines the warmth of a classic Tayana interior with the equipment and layout needed for real voyaging. She features a three-stateroom, two-head layout, aft owner’s cabin with centerline queen berth, satin teak joinery, teak-and-holly sole, air conditioning and heat, and a galley designed for extended cruising. On deck, MANDATE is set up for short-handed sailing with a Leisure Furl in-boom mainsail, Doyle furling genoa, Doyle staysail, Profurl furlers, hydraulic backstay tensioner, hydraulic boom vang, and four Lewmar electric winches. Her 11 hp Side-Power bow thruster, sugar-scoop transom, replaced teak decks, Rocna anchor, and Northern Lights generator make her a substantial cruising platform with the right ownership-minded upgrades already in place. For buyers looking for a capable offshore cruising yacht with character, volume, and classic Tayana quality, MANDATE deserves a serious look. Listed by Derek Jarvis with David Walters Yachts. The constrictor knot is one of the most effective binding knots.[Simple and secure, it is a harsh knot that can be difficult or impossible to untie once tightened. For a full how to video follow the link below :- It is made similarly to a clove hitch but with one end passed under the other, forming an overhand knot under a riding turn. The constrictor knot can be used to secure your rope to any object or can even be attached to another length of rope. Many say that the use cases for the constrictor knot are only limited by your imagination. We hope you enjoyed todays Knot Knots demonstration, if you are interested in increasing your knot tying knowledge why not pick up a copy of what many sailors still call the knot bible. First published in 1944 this book has stood the test of time. With over 3900 different kinds, from simple hitches to “Marlinspike Seamanship.” Mr. Ashley has included almost everything there is to know about them. Precisely named and classified (some new ones for the first time officially), they can be easily found in the big index. He tells when they appeared, something about their history, and what they are good for. Click the link below to pick up a copy of the Knot Bible. https://amzn.to/2UKHxh1 Thanks for supporting Bottom up Boats we how you enjoyed todays know knots tutorial where we demonstrated how to tie the constrictor knot ! The forecast called for light wind and a gentle swell. That wasn't what we got! We were stuck under a squall line and the wind slowly built. I stopped filming when the rain came. Of course when we got onto the Bahamas bank the sun came out and the sea was smooth.
