Beautiful promotional video of the Carpe Novo and scuba diving in the Maldives from this beautiful liveaboard. All the material was taken during September/October period 2016 during which Hanifaru Bay also was active when we where there. A spectacular event where up till hundreds of mantas gather to feed in this special lagoon and which happens at times in summer period, mostly during July, August, September and October months. Whale shark at the back of the boat we usually see on our trips to Thaa atoll all year round.

The Carpe Diem, our first liveaboard, was completely refurbished inside during summer of 2016. The video has therefore been updated with the new looks of the cabins. The Carpe Diem was nominated best dive liveaboard 2016 and Carpe Diem Maldives fleet was awarded "Leading liveaboard brand" for the second year in a row. On the night of the 3rd of November 2016, the Carpe Vita liveaboard was in Thaa atoll and hoping for whale sharks to show at night at the back of the boat. The first whale shark to appear had a very big fishing hook stuck in the side of his mouth with some rope on it. One of the guests managed to cut the rope off while one Carpe Vita dive team member managed to pull the hook out after several attempts. This amazing footage captures the event and also shows that the whale shark continued feeding after the rescue. Must have been very relieved. Thanks to our team on the Vita and to Travis Matteson for capturing this on video.

Whale shark Festival 2015

The crew noticed a net with a lot of rubbish floating on the surface. Upon closer inspection they discovered 4 green turtles trapped in the netting and some small fish. Video taken recently at Vaavu atoll of two nurse sharks remarkable behavior. Are they trying to mate...? If so it seems that the female is not really interested. Footage was taken during a scuba night dive off the Carpe Diem liveaboard

On 7th of February both scuba diving guests of the Carpe Diem and the Carpe Vita liveaboards were surprised by a visit of this whale shark at the back of the boat in the middle of the night. Guests were able to spend quite some time with the whale shark as it was having a wonderful plankton breakfast.
