Left the craziness of Khao San Central, and found a much nicer area of Bangkok to stay in - Wat Tha Phra.
A neighborhood with tiny river canals, narrow alleys and almost no tourists.
So could do what we love the most - walk for miles without much of a destination, catching a glimpse of the daily lives of local people.

More walking along the tiny canals in Wat Tha Phra, Bangkok.
As we chose to visit Thailand during the Thai New Year festivities, we were not spared the clay and water - a great tradition.
It used to be a quiet and kind ritual of gently sprinkling perfumed water as a blessing, only after permission. As our host would tell us.
Nowadays, water is thrown at anyone passing by with cups, water guns and buckets.
Still, unique, colorful, loud and with a smile - the new Thai way.
