With the tank repaired and the rain ceased we went in search of some fresh drinking water. Hiking up hills and rough terrain we find a suitable spring. With the help of some of the village kids, we do multiple trips to carry the water back to the kayak. Undoubtedly overloaded with 70L of water per trip and windy wavy seas, we just make it back to the boat before the kayak is completely under. Just when we thought it couldn't get worse? The other water tank on our sailboat has now burst, flooding the boat and costing us even more precious drinking water. And the tank we spent days fixing? Still leaking. All the water we just carried barefoot from a creek-70L by kayak-is vanishing fast. Life off-grid at sea isn't always paradise.
