Sailing from the west towards the east in the Caribbean is always an interesting exercise, Especially after weeks of strong winds. The shallow waters of Bocas del Toro make it sometimes quite a challenge to leave as the waves can be pretty nasty. Again BE FREE is flying over the Caribbean waves on the last sail from Bocas to Shelter Bay marina in Colon. We are on a schedule as Gee has a flight to catch going back home to Europe.
Entering the breaker walls of Colon surfing 14 knots into the bay and entrance to the Shelter Bay Marina. This time it was also quite a challenge docking stern to with 27 knots of wind on our side.
This was hopefully the last sail in the Caribbean for now as the next step is through the Panama Canal and entering the next chapter - The Pacific

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I`m sailing around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.

Even though this is season 5 on youtube I did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and have also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing ever since. Also, more than 10 years of experience in Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.

PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS!
I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things that might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.
