SAILING CHRASH LANDED WITH RATS ONBOARD- SwT 176

Witness the intense moments of my crash landing in Indonesia and the unexpected challenges faced by sailors at sea. Facing a nightmare scenario of a rat infestation on board - sharing how to create a rat trap that works using old peanut butter as bait! Will I successfully get my boat of these pesky creatures? One of the most challenging parts for a solo sailor is often the check-in process. Especially after a long sail. This time I have had almost 30 days at sea, still I just have to get the paperwork started right away. And even hunt rats when all I wanted to do was just go to sleep.

Saumlaki is my gateway into Indonesia as it is one of the closest ports of entry after passing the Torres Strait. Not every island in Indonesia is approved for entry or even renewing your visa.
The check-in process was done with very friendly and helpful people. Both health and customs were professional and effective. The immigration however is a totally different story. I will share more of this crazy experience in the next episode and also how to check into Indonesia with a yacht.

However I'm finally in Indonesia that's been on my bucket list for decades, and I cant wait to explore the wonders of this amazing nation. My first impression is lovely people and so different from my expectations. Indonesia is truly an exciting experience.
