With no warning, the wind roared in, lightning cracked across the sky, and we found ourselves battling a sudden storm with bare poles. The rain poured relentlessly, soaking everything in its path-and ripped things from the deck. We were freezing cold, drenched, and trying to keep control as the wind howled around us. Things can change in an instant out here, and this night was a serious reminder of that.
