When you start drawing, a few things LIKELY will happen

When you start drawing (or painting , or ?. Whatever) a few things LIKELY will happen: - You'll get frustrated: Art is tough. And especially for new artists, it's easy to compare your own drawing style to the artists you admire. This can be discouraging! But it's key to focus on the basics and techniques - don't try to copy the exact style of ANY artist you learn from. - You'll get inspired: Art is all about inspiration. Once you begin practicing your own art, you may be more likely to notice, and appreciate, the art all around you. Comics, movies, books, Ads! Artists give colour to our world - when you start drawing, you join this mission too. Even if your art only ends up on the fridge! - You'll become dissatisfied. No matter how far you progress, I think a mark of a great artist is a level of dissatisfaction in what they're creating - that drives us to experiment! And that's not the same thing as disliking your art. Instead, it's focusing on what's next - how you can evolve. I've taught art for four years and still have a million things to learn.
