Transiting the PANAMA CANAL on a 112ft schooner
Sea|mester's 112ft schooner, STV Vela, transits the Panama Canal! Join us as the students onboard Sea|mester's Spring 2025 program transit the Panama Canal for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Within 24 hours, the crew onboard made their way from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific through one of the manmade wonders of the world. Sharing locks with a cargo ship, a pink skied-full moon backdrop, dance parties in the rain and sailing under the Bridge of the Americas were just a few of the highlights from the transit. Whether you're looking for what to expect when going through the Canal, or interested in some of the most unique experiences that Sea|mester has to offer, this video explores the challenges, triumphs and everything in between from the 22 person crew as they make the transit.
