The OCEAN RACER - NEIL PAYTER and his CLASS40 | SAILING WAYZGOOSE WARRIOR Ep 10

In this episode we bring you a little Christmas present; an interview with Neil Payter and a boat tour of his Class40; Cariberia. On 9th May 2021 Neil sets off in the OSTAR (Original Single-Handed Transatlantic Race) – sailing single-handedly 3,000 miles across the North Atlantic to reach Newport, Rhode Island, USA. As you might know, not long ago, we spent a week in a marina in Gosport and Neil Payter was the first person we met. Even before we knew his name we were onboard Cariberia and he was telling us everything about the boat and his participation in the race. We had a great time that week listening to his stories, meeting some of his friends and helping out. Neil is going to spend the winter training and making sure him and the boat are ready for the race. Whilst being there we had the pleasure to meet Alex Laline who will be helping him out with all the preparation. Alex will be participating in the Mini Transat 2021, where he will race accross The Atlantic on a 6.5m boat. Both Neal and Alex were super helpful and we learned a lot from them on the few days we spent together. We are so grateful they shared their stories and experience with us! Neil will generously be supporting both Sullivan’s Heroes – towards vital home adaptation projects for the disabled children the charity is helping – and The Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation – providing respite holidays for critically and terminally sick children and their families.
