SI #692 - She did it! Bravo Zulu to super solo-sailor Cole Brauer (USA)
SAILING ILLUSTRATED #692 (Fri 8 Mar 2024) - Thursday at 07:23 UTC, Cole Brauer finished the Global Solo Challenge, in second place after Philippe Delamare (FRA), and became the first US female to sail solo, nonstop, around the world, by the three great capes. Less than 200 people have achieved this feat since Sir Robin Knox-Johnston became the first man to do so in 1969. Join us for this and other yacht racing news, views and notables hosted by Tom Ehman (USA), with Julia Wedekind (USA), Jon Emmett (GBR), Alistair Murray (AUS) and The FOSI. Our twice-weekly live webcast airs Tuesdays and Fridays at 13:00 Pacific on Facebook (fb.com/sailingillustratedblog) and the Sailing Illustrated TV YouTube channel, or watch a replay on-demand later.
