Sailing with Puffins: An Incredible Adventure

Did you know Puffins mate for life, forming monogamous bonds that can last up to 20 years. They have have colorful beaks that change colour with the seasons, becoming brighter during the breeding season. In addition they are skilled divers, able to reach depths of 60 meters while hunting for food. Imagine our delight when we sail to the Shaint Islands off the Outer Hebrides and observe them in massive numbers. The noise was incredible, and the birds amazing. We also saw Razorbills here which was a delight! We observed diving for food and nesting. We decide its too noisy to anchor overnight and head to some quiet remote spots to enjoy a more peaceful night.
