Planning a sailing passage from Great Keppel Island to the Percy Islands is no small feat-especially for new cruisers like us! From checking tide times and weather windows to choosing the best anchorages, we tackled each leg of the journey with caution, curiosity and a fair bit of research. We split the trip into five legs: - GKI to Corio Bay - Corio to Freshwater Bay - Freshwater to Pearl Bay - Pearl Bay to Hunter Island - And finally, onto the magical Percy Islands It wasn't all smooth sailing though - we had a bit of an 'oops moment' exiting Corio Bay and grazed a rock. No real damage done (except to our pride and my nerves), and it definitely sharpened our focus for the rest of the journey. We also had some of the best sails we've had so far on ARGO. It was a trip full of learning, growing confidence, and enjoying the moments that make this sailing life so worth it. In this episode we share - Our route from Great Keppel to the Percy Islands, broken into 5 legs - What we considered when planning a coastal passage - Lessons learned, great sailing, and a minor rock 'kiss' Thanks for watching.
