RS Aero dinghy racing

I recently bought a RS Aero single handed dinghy so I am spending as much time as I can this summer dinghy racing. The Aero is very light weight and faster than a Laser. I normally race in the Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club handicap evening races in the River Tamar opposite Devonport dockyard - the biggest navy dockyard in Europe. A narrow river with strong swirling tides and of course a lot of traffic. Obviously we don't race in the main channel if big ship movements are reported. Chris Waters is our resident drone expert and took this video a couple of days ago. This is an extract, you can see the full video here. https://www.facebook.com/chris.waters.5283/videos/10157538586366660/ My boat is 1584, I rounded the windward mark first and then, as you can see, I hit a huge patch of weed and almost stopped, much to the surprise of the two following boats. Fortunately it cleared itself and I got to the next mark first. I deliberately made a big rounding to get to the back eddy along the shore. It paid off as you can see.
