Quest for Hayling Island! Episode 1 "Hull and Rigging Upgrades"

In this new series of The Rogue Rigger I take you along on my campaign to go to the 5o5 World Championships in Hayling Island, England. The worlds start in July of 2026 so we have just a year and a half to go. Follow Mike and I on our journey to get to the world championships, from boat upgrades, practice days, regattas, debriefs and some shenanigans along the way. In the first episode I knock out a bunch of new upgrades to our boat. WARNING there is a bunch of splicing montages. After 2 years of sailing the boat we have found what we like and dislike about the boat doing everything to optimize it so that we can sail it to the full potential. As well we loaned the boat out to one of the top teams in the world and they gave a bunch of good feed back and ways to make it faster. Larry Tuttle from Waterat (The guy who built the boat) did some composite work to our foils and the forward bulkhead and gave us a bunch of rigging upgrade suggestions.
