Port Blair to Langkawi | The Finale - Of our toughest sail | S0330
After 3 grueling days at sea battling 35+ knot winds, 3-4m swells, and engine troubles, we finally neared Thailand's Koh Similan Islands. Welcomed by a stunning sunrise and a breathtaking moonset, we made a much-needed stop to rest, clear an entangled rope from our prop, and regroup before our final push to Langkawi. Armed with updated weather data, we set sail again-facing the looming threat of a thunderstorm. Hugging the Phuket coast, we crossed the iconic Big Buddha statue and took temporary shelter near the southern tip of the island. While the storm hit hard that night, we leaned on the age-old wisdom of local fishermen, who proved right once again. With 24 hours to go, the sea gifted us one last curveball: calm glassy waters with no wind. From violent squalls to perfect stillness, this passage tested every ounce of our seamanship, endurance, and spirit. And no each other. Next week, a new chapter begins as we welcome fresh crew aboard SV Reeva.
