While sailing through the Bahamas on our performance catamaran, AWEN, we had to take a very narrow weather window ahead of a storm system. We talk about weighing the different wind conditions, weather tradeoffs while sailing, and other couple dynamics to consider when bad weather approaches and navigational decisions need to be made. Did we make the right choice to leave our anchorage for this weather window and was it luck or skill? ?
