K'gari (Fraser Is) - gorgeous turquoise waters to our worst night at anchor (Ep.14) | Sailing ARGO
We spent a few days in the incredible turquoise waters off Wathumba Creek at K'gari - just breathtaking how pretty it is there. But on our way down the coastline of the bay, found ourselves anchored up in what has become our worst night at anchor yet! The swell forecast didn't sound like it would be too bad, but we ended up feeling like we were in a washing machine - massive bridge deck slaps, rolling up and down like we were on the heavy load cycle of the washer, and no sleep for anyone. Clearly this won't be the last time we have a rough night (no doubt passage crossings will give us another new benchmark) but for newbies, this made us really stop and think about how we are managing and understanding the forecast. Live and learn they say!
