Ilot Mato | Sailing with Six | Ep 7

In this episode we explore Ilot Mato in the Southern Lagoon of New Caledonia. On the way we almost catch a Spanish Mackerel but it outsmarted us just as we got it close enough to gaff. So with hungry bellies we explore the coral reef around the island in an attempt to spear some dinner but to no avail. On our second day at Ilot Mato we climb the island and enjoy the breathtaking views from the top, then attempt once again to spear some dinner. With a coral trout that will only be enough for a taste we put the lines out as we leave Ilot Mato and finally have great success!!
