Eager to unravel the mysteries of Middle Percy, we waste no time in setting foot upon its pristine shores, having missed out on our previous stop due to very inclement weather. Our first stop: the legendary A-frame structure nestled amidst the lush foliage and aqua blue ocean, a testament to the island's storied past. We marvel at the diverse artefacts left by thousands of travelers before us, eager to delve further into the surrounding islands and learn more about the history of Middle Percy Island. We start with a remote, abandoned island adjacent to Middle Percy eager to explore the ruins and connect with the island. Upon arrival the realization that this is no ordinary path send some of the group back to the comfort of the safely anchored boats while the rest of the team; ropes & packs prepared, make their way through the tangled undergrowth and overgrown grass in search of a destination unknown. Holly waits intently for the boys to return & starts to worry when it's been hours with no food and minimal water. Having no way to get in touch it's just a long waiting game! As always Atticus seizes the opportunity to kneeboard through the clear waters, expanding his skills and making the most of the never-ending warm days and clear skies. The Island of Middle Percy has so many wonders, from crumbling ruins reclaimed by nature and forgotten relics of a bygone era silently bearing witness to the passage of time. The island tells many stories of times gone by through the abandoned properties and the numerous memorabilia placed around the island and the A frame structure - Percy Island Yacht Club. We get lost for hours reading the signs, tags, plaques and sorting through the array of shirts, hats, thongs and visitors' messages. We are forever grateful for the opportunity that lies within Middle Percy Island for visitors to learn the islands history, communicate their adventures with like-minded travelers and soak up the beauty of the harsh, but beautiful coastline and mountain range.
