Fastnet Race on Rambler 88 | Yachting World

American George David's Rambler 88 took monohull line honours in the Royal Ocean Racing Club Rolex Fastnet Race this morning, finishing in 1d 19h, just over an hour outside the course record. It's the third consecutive time that Rambler 88 has taken line honours, but she's yet to win the race overall, and in this clip George David reflects on his disappointment, but he also described rounding the Fastnet Rock in almost identical conditions, at a similar time of day, to 2011 when his Rambler 100's keel fell off and the yacht capsized. An emotional moment for him, remembering his rescue, that of his wife and 19 other crew, and reconnecting this weekend once again with the rescue services that came to their aid.
