Epic Journey Through the Pentland Firth to the Caledonian Canal

We start this episode by exploring the Scapa Flow museum on the island of Hoy in the Orkneys. A fascinating place offering lots of history on the significance of Lyness in both world wars and the use of Scapa Flow for fleets of ships. An entire fleet of German warships was scuppered here by their own crew! As the weather in Orkney has been pretty stormy for the past month we decide to make use the the wind we do have and head south towards Wick for an overnight stay before setting sail early the next day for Inverness. This plan will enable us to keep moving rather than waiting for these strong winds and big seas on surrounding Orkney to pass. If you are loving our content give us a like and a subscribe.
