E154 - Exploring the Cannibal Island of Erromango, Dillons Bay

944 Bekeken· 07/01/24

We leave the island of Tanna and have a quick sail across to the Island of Erromango, stopping at Dillons Bay (Williams Bay). We are met by David and he kindly shows us around the village and a beautiful swimming hole. Heading back up river we visit the rock where the missionary John Willams body was taken to be divided among local chiefs to be cooked and ritually eaten. With David as our guide, we dive in crystal clear water and have a lovely traditional dinner with our hosts. We're Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. We are just an ordinary Aussie couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams. #seawind1260 seawind1260 #seawindcats #sailing #sailingboat #sailingyacht #yacht #yachting #yachtinglifestyle #cruisinglife #vanutu
